26. James L. Russell, IN, 1872-1937, Lake Michigan scene, oil on canvas, 28" x 38", signed. (500-700)

Russell started out as a sculptor. He started the Wonderland Way Art Club in his studio in New Albany, IN, and it became a local hub of artist activity. He was a regular Hoosier Salon exhibitor, and his works are found in several Midwestern museums.

134. Inez Russel Bolinger, IN, 20th century, Floral still life, oil on canvas, 36" x 40", signed. (500-700)

Bolinger studied at the John Heron Art School and was a pupil of Forsythe, Davisson and Wayman Adams. She exhibited widely, including entries at the Hoosier Salon, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Tampa Art Institute.

47. Edward Vaclar Kleinert, Chicago, 20th century, Coastal scene with shack and distant church spire, 1932, oil on canvas, 18" x 24", signed & dated. (300-500)

Listed in Davenport's and Who's Who in American Art.

6. Marion Freeman Wakeman, MA, 1891-1953, Meandering Stream, 1920, oil on canvas, 16" x 20", signed & dated. (400-600)

Wakeman was a Massachusetts painter, illustrator and etcher. She studied at the Arts Student League with Luks and DuMond, and was a pupil of Hawthorne and Tryon. She was a member of the NAWA and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Montclair Art Museum, and elsewhere.

334. Oscar Regan Coast, OR, 1851-1931, Mountain landscape with cottage, oil on board, 8" x 6", signed. (300-500)

Coast studied in Paris & Rome w/Thomas Hicks, Faller & Yewell. He spent most of his career in New York City, and his later life in California. He was in the Salmagundi Club.

24. Fred Carver Fee, CA, 1886-1938, Ocean breakers & deep blue sea, oil on board, 10" x 13", signed. (200-400)

394. Louis Oscar Griffith, IN & IL, 1875-1956, Woman working a loom, etching, 11½" x 8", pencil signed. (100-200)

Griffith studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Academy of Design, and the St. Louis School of Fine Art. He was a founding member of the Chicago Society of Etchers, and had numerous high profile exhibition entries and awards.

50. William Stone Beeken, NJ, 1897-1952, Mountain town in winter, oil on board, 12" x 16", signed. (200-400)

Beeken was an aviator in World War I, and after the war worked as a mail pilot. He painted from memory the mountain landscapes he flew over in South America. He spent the last few years of his life painting in Vermont.
