157. Wooten Desk, walnut with burled panels. Cast iron slots to doors, left reads Letters, right Wooten Desk Manf Co Indianapolis IND, W.S. Wooten, Patent Oct 6 1874. Fully panelled front, sides and back. Doors open to fully fitted interior and hand carved bird's eye maple drop front panel, opening into a writing surface and additional fitted interior compartments, original bird's eye maple drawer fronts. Ornate carved crown with carved scroll finials. Two replaced 3" burled accents to right door, missing one hinge cap. 75.5"h, 32"d, 46"w closed. A spectacular example in superb condition. 12,000-15,000

Very early massive hand carved oval mirror, winged griffin supports to base with massive claw feet, pierce-carved lion's face and paws crowned with life sized carved nuts, fruit and leaves with acanthus scrolls, mirror surrounded by four floral cartouches and overlapping ropetwist design, some loss to silver in mirror, 84"h x 50"w. 3,000-5,000
