Monumental Rookwood Limoges glaze vase with gilt dolphin handles, classic oriental slip decoration attributed to Maria Nichols with several black devils attacking large sea serpent amidst crashing white-capped waves, crabs and gilt highlights. Base impressed ROOKWOOD 1882, 17"h x 16"w x 13"d, restoration to handles, the rest excellent condition. Formerly from the Glover Collection. 5,000-7,500.
87. Early Rookwood pillow vase with detailed mountainous landscape with waterfall and pine trees covering entire surface, impressed ROOKWOOD 1882, small flake at base edge covered in factory glaze, 14.5"h x 13"w x 6"d. A large impressive vase in spectacular condition. 4,000-6,000

Rookwood "Butch" bulldog figure, great glaze combination of opaque brown with vivid blue and orange adventurine highlights, with stunning blue drip highlights, #6483, 4.5"h, impressed BUTCH on bottom, mint. Designed by Louise Abel after E.T. Hurley's dog. Glaze obscures all but two Xs of date on base, we assume this to be early 1930s due to the exceptional nature of the glaze. 1,200-1,600.
