353. 19th century Scottish linen press, richly grained mahogany, expert carving, central domed mirrored door flanked by ribbon wrapped fluted columns with carved capitals of fruits, nuts, blossoms and pierce-carved vining, large domed crown carved with shield, nuts, pods and pierce-carved vining, central door over interior drawers flanked by two doors with panels with carved rippled edging. Breaks down into eight pieces. Minor losses to veneer and to vining at crown. 106"h x 94"w x 26"d. 5,000-10,000

Matched pair of deeply carved standing silver chests, one divided drawer over one door, beautifully carved with Minerva head and scroll work to front panel with geometric and scrolled edging, corners deeply carved with curls, drapes, pods and leaves, all on stippled backgrounds. Born in Philadelphia, Lewis studied under Paul Weber. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Boston Athanaeum, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

Davies was one of "The Eight, " a group of painters who became a symbol of revolt in American art after an exhibition in 1908. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and adopted a Cubist style later in his life.

Born in Defiance, Ohio, Cunningham was active in Florida and California. She studied at Defiance College, Van Emburg Art School (NJ), and in France at the Fontainbleu School.

(Richard) Dey De Ribcowski was born in Bulgaria, studied art in Paris beginning at age 13, then continued in Italy and Russia. He founded the Academy of Beaux Arts in Buenos Aires in 1904. He immigrated to the United States in 1910, living primarily in Arizona and California. He specialized in marine paintings, cityscapes, Venice, and the Grand Canyon.

Viennese-style hand painted enameled figural compote, rock crystal bowl and base with silver bands with detailed enameled mythological scenes, mermaid-form stem with split tail, the dipper atop bowl is a full standing mariner holding spyglass with pearl to his belly, both crystal bowls have cut decorations including grotesque faces and griffins, 8" to top of bowl, 11" to top of mariner, probably Austrian, minor flaws to glass, two chips to bowl. 4,000-6,000
