Fully panelled front, sides and back. Doors open to fully fitted interior and hand carved bird's eye maple drop front panel, opening into a writing surface and additional fitted interior compartments, original bird's eye maple drawer fronts. Ornate carved crown with carved scroll finials. Old finish, excellent condition. 353. 19th century Scottish linen press, richly grained mahogany, expert carving, central domed mirrored door flanked by ribbon wrapped fluted columns with carved capitals of fruits, nuts, blossoms and pierce-carved vining, large domed crown carved with shield, nuts, pods and pierce-carved vining, central door over interior drawers flanked by two doors with panels with carved rippled edging. Matched pair of deeply carved standing silver chests, one divided drawer over one door, beautifully carved with Minerva head and scroll work to front panel with geometric and scrolled edging, corners deeply carved with curls, drapes, pods and leaves, all on stippled backgrounds. 267. Exceptional carved walnut Victorian turtle top table. Four separate carvings to skirt, each a variation on love birds in and around a nest with eggs, oak leaves, pods, and trumpet blossoms. Each knee is deeply carved with a squirrel climbing branches with nuts and leaves, towards the nests. Pierced stretcher with central urn finial filled with fruit and nuts topped by a squirrel pinning down a bird. 29.5"h x 44" x 31". Fully carved walnut hall chair with extensive open work, large central medallion to back with open mouthed grotesque face surrounded by acanthus and floral designs, split scroll crown with central flower-filled urn. Floral medallions to seat with stippled background. Front of base has central medallion with dancing lion flanked by two man-in-the-moon faces, violin scrolls to each corner.
